Just in time for the Hoenn re-release, y/y?

Okay so this doesn't seem like much. I took this i.imgur.com/ShaaiVl.png and redid it in first illustrator and some finishing touches in Photoshop. What is notable here is that this time last week I'd never used Illustrator before in my life

Step one is simple shapes & pen practice, then expanded so I can toy with the line thicknesses. Step 2 to 3 is the real magic. Set up a full Mesh Grid to get that effect going and probably took longer than doing it by hand in PS but it is kinda homework for me to get good at this. The final step is just some old tricks I have up my sleeve from years of PS.

Hoenn has some stinker designs and really dull Pokémon. But it also contains three of my favourite sets. Trapinch > Vibrava > Flygon is *the* best designed three stage evolution bar none. <3 Pity they are kinda shitty. Maybe I'll do the others in this style as I get better at this program.
